Maho Udo
was born on
August 22, 1986 in Kyoto,
Japan.
At age 12, MAHO started Jazz/Hip-Hop/Ballet dancing and apparatus
gymnastics.
In
1999, he made his debut as a backup dancer at "Johnny's Jr. FRESH
SPRING CONCERT".
Until
2003, he danced behind TOKIO, V6, Kinki Kids, ARASHI, Tacky &
Tsubasa, KAT-TUN, Kanjani∞, etc. on their stages and concert tours.
Then
caught up in the entertainment world, he decided to take a new
challenge.
In
2005, at age 18, he left Japan for New York to hone his dancing skills.
For
three years (2005 - 2008) at BDC ISVP, MAHO studied with a lot of
world-famous dancers (Brian Green, Rhapsody, Jazzy J, Ejoe, Luam, Jared
Grimes, Michele Assaf, Brice Mousset, Germaine Salsberg, Dorit Koppel,
etc.)
He
has learned a wide range of dance styles including Hip Hop, House,
Jazz, Contemporary Tap and Ballet. His dancing talent has led
him
to opportunities to perform in many showcases.
On
graduation, he obtained a practical training (PT) visa.
In 2008,
he passed the audition for the Cirque du Soleil and obtained a
US artist visa to work as a professional
dancer in US.
In
2009, selected through highly competitive audition, he got a great
chance to participate in Madonna’s “Sticky & Sweet Tour
2009”. He outstandingly performed animation dances in the
Madonna’s tour.
This
year, MAHO perfomed as Cirque du Soleil
dancer at the
Opening Ceremonies of 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championship in
Istanbul Turkey.
MAHO
joins Ejoe’s dance troupe “Beyond Phenomenon” and belongs to Jared
Grimes Company and Brian Thomas Company, widening his appeal by
showcasing a variety of dance styles and techniques.
